FW 2013 - Prabal Gurung & Belstaff

Prabal Gurung's runway show presented modern woman warriors. The clothes look comfy and wearable and models looked ready to take over the world. Some of the dresses shown were on the contrary very romantic and feminine and rounded up everything very nicely.

Belstaff collection was filled with basic pieces consisting of leather and wool that worked a little sporty but still chic and warm, so very winter-appropriate.

Check back tomorrow for the coverage of Proenza Schouler - it was one of their best collections yet.

NYFW - Alexander Wang

I wanted to post about this collection right after the show itself was streamed on the internet, but I had some other more important work before I could do that so this post is a little late.

Anyways, Alexander Wang presented one of his most grown-up collections yet and I think I can honestly say that he's ready for Balenciaga in Paris in about two weeks.
This Fall/Winter 2013 collection will probably be reminded by the red pony-tails all the models had, but some of the most interesting designs were also fur boxing-gloves, wool coats with leather parts and silk t-shirts with shoulder cut-offs.
One of the things I'm undecided about was the triple-bag made from different materials (leather and calf hair, I think), but I absolutely fell in love with the simple black pumps without the inner part at the ankle. A must!

New York FW - Rag&Bone & Yigal Azrouël

Black will be returning for the winter season. I think if you style it properly it never gets boring, but can be a very inspiring choice, especially when you experiment with different textures, materials and accessories, so it's the details that make you stand out.

New York Fashion Week - Jason Wu

Jason Wu has become one of my favorite New York-based designers. His clothes are so feminine with a hint of sexy, like he know what woman really want when they want to dress up. The details are stunning and material/color combinations make me speechless (that styling of a white dress with the snake-skin leather jacket is to die for, in my opinion). You did well, Mr. Wu.

NYFW - Richard Chai Love & Tadashi Shoji

Fashion craze has officially begun again!

Yesterday the New York fashion week started and I'm really excited to see what designers have planned for us for the Fall/Winter 2013. I've decided to start posting sooner this year, so I won't have to write about this FW until it's already finished for a few months, but we'll see how the timing and my plans for the end of the month's trip will turn out.

I've browsed through some of the collections presented yesterday and was most impressed by the ones from Richard Chai Love and Tadashi Shoji, so you can find some of my favorite looks below.

Richard Chai Love: I love the use of military green in this collection and the color combination with other basic colors. One of the things I decided recently was to buy a new quality coat every winter because wearing the same one or two all over gets pretty boring, and I think I have a possible candidate(s) right here.

Tadashi Shoji: I loved some of the dressed presented because of their color and subtle goth effect that works very romantic and reminds me of recent seasons by Valentino.

Check back tomorrow to see my thoughts about Jason Wu and later on by two of my favorites -  Alexander Wang & Proenza Schouler.

Proenza Schouler, Rag&Bone and Reed Krakoff Pre-fall 2013

Proenza Schouler amaze me with their every collection. If it's not about the accessories, it's about their special textures and patterns, their jackets or just everything all together. For pre-fall they went with the over-sized look in jackets and printed pants and skirts. Colors are basic - white, black and blue and work together very well and fashionable.

Rag&Bone is another go-to label for some instant cool & street update, but for pre-fall the are staying very basic with casual cuts and tailoring.

Reed Krakoff is also becoming one of the 'it' New York labels, especially because of their highly successful handbag lines, for example the Boxer bag. I love the coat from the first photo and the leather dress on the second and hope to add it or something similar to my collection for the fall season.
